Hi there. Thanks for reading my blog. This year I am taking on the biggest challenge of my life. I am running the Marathon Des Sables in April 2014. They call it “the toughest footrace on earth”. It is 215 kms across the Sahara Desert in 6 days. That is six marathons in six days and one of them is a double. It will be around 50 degrees and you have to carry your own food and kit. Oh yes – and I have never run a marathon!

I speak fluent Arabic and love working and travelling in the Middle East and Africa. In 2011 I completed the Tour D’Afrique, 12,000 kms on a bike from Cairo to Cape Town.

  1. Hi Alice! You don’t know me, but Rope Race put up a link to your blog and as a fellow cyclist (although not nearly as accomplished!) I’m following your progress on this adventure with interest! Good luck with it, it’s an amazing (not to mention extremely tough) thing to do!!
